Sweets and Tweets is a cupcake and social media salon produced by Debbie Weil and featuring leading voices from Washington DC's diverse technology community. DC's digerati eat cupcakes, rub shoulders and hear about the use of social media by the public and private sector - from the White House and federal agencies to local startups.

The July 9, 2009 event was sponsored by Genius Rocket

Mark Walsh, entrepreneur, venture capitalist and politico (and CEO of Genius Rocket), was the speaker. He talked about crowdsourcing everything from healthcare to lawncare to blog design and why this is becoming a new way of doing business.

Like our hugely successful first event (click through for attendee list), Sweets and Tweets was held at the ultra cool Baked & Wired in Georgetown. Baked & Wired’s cupcakes were declared the best in the nation in the March 2009 issue of The Atlantic.
